Ride in Balance Dressage Lessons

Now the work can really begin!
With you now sitting in balance and harmony on your horse we have the very important foundation skills in place, so that you can train your horse correctly without confusion or harm

I work in accordance with the scale of training, our first aim to develop relaxation and regularity, teaching the horse to swing and stretch through his back in order to build the top-line muscles, as he reaches forward for the bit.

As the horse grows in strength and confidence, we can begin to introduce the school movements.

Continuing up the scale of training, we will begin to work on contact and straightness, introducing lateral work to improve both elements and to teach you the coordination required to control both the forehand and the hindquarters of your horse.
As your horse becomes more aware of and obedient to your aids, i.e. on your seat, on your leg and on the bit we will begin to regularly ride through dressage tests.

By regular test riding, you can learn how to present an accurate, well planned, judge pleasing test. None of us can afford to throw away marks by being under prepared!

Training will continue with increasing impulsion, balance and “throughness” leading to improving collection as we introduce counter canter, “changes” and extensions.

Together we can make training your horse a positive experience for him and an interesting and rewarding one for you.
